Making your own granola is by far the smartest, most delicious, and economic thing you can do.
Seriously.
The prices of granola are re-donk, and most of them are filled with way too much sugar. By making your own you get to save money, AND be in total control of how much sugar you’re putting in. Pretty sweet deal right?
he, he. SWEET deal. Get it?
Now this granola my friends, is something else. I think chocolate should be mandatory for granola.
Chocolate with granola makes it feel like that Nesquick cereal I used to eat as a kid. The one that makes the milk all chocolately at the end. And you kind of feel like you’re having dessert.
Ok so this granola comes together super easily. I did it with Satya in one hand so you can only imagine how easy it is.
You place the oats, seeds, nuts and coconut in a bowl and mix together. Then in a sauce pan over medium heat, melt together your coconut oil, cocoa/cacao and maple syrup. You can also sub your maple syrup for any liquid sweetener of choice! Whisk it together, and once it’s nice and smooth, pour it over your granola. Mix until combined, pour it on a parchment lined baking tray, and pop it in the oven.
BOOM.
Easy, peasy.
The other amazing thing about this (or any granola recipe) is you can use WHATEVER you have on hand.
Seriously. If the recipe calls for almond and you have walnuts – use the walnuts. It’s cool. Just use the same amount – 1 cup walnuts:1 cup almonds.
Same with any of the fixin’s inside. Sub your sunflower seeds for pumpkin, or hemp, or whatever you feel like. As long as the ratio of the dry ingredients to wet ones is the same, you’re golden my friend.
This recipe is:
