Sooo, I decided to call this recipe “The sauce that never ends” because… you never want it to end!
Also… I started singing it to the tune of that song, and couldn’t get it out of my head…
“This is the sauce that never ends, and it goes on and on my frieeeends, some people started eating it not knowing what it was, but they’ll continue eating it forever just because this is the sauce that never ends….”
I can’t get it out of my head.
And now, maybe you can’t get it out of yours? Sorry!
I created this recipe while staying with my parents while Vikram was in Mysore. We had it so many times.
We made it with so many things like:
- Stir fry
- Tofu “steaks”
- Pad thai-esque concoctions
- Dipping sauce for raw wraps
- Sauce on warm wraps
We started eating it with one thing, and then another, and we just kinda never stopped.
Hence, the sauce that never ends.
It is so good.
It is so good for you.
And SO simple to make. You don’t need any fancy equipment either. Just a bowl and a fork. Ok, and a measuring spoon.
This sauce is made using:
- Tamari
- Almond butter
- Maple syrup
- Garlic
- Chilli flakes
- lemon juice
That. Is. It.
No funky ingredients you can’t pronounce. Just real, delicious, food.
This sauce is:
- High in protein and healthy fats (thanks Almonds)
- Anti-microbial, anti-fungal, anti-viral and anti-cancer properties (thanks garlic)
- A source of B3, tryptophan and Manganese (thanks Tamari)
- And super, freakin’ delicious.
Because yes, food can taste REALLY delicious, and be good for you.
Now, this sauce is so easy to make. You LITERALLY place everything in a bowl, and mix until a saucy consistency is achieved. That’s it.
Wow. This blog is awful short now, isn’t it? LOL
If you find the taste too strong, you can soften it with a bit of water. You can also play around with adding or omitting garlic/spice as you see fit. I personally LOVE garlic and spice so I load mine up, but you don’t have to.
I also think – if you’re adventurous – that adding a little bit of finely chopped ginger add’s a little kick as well.
I hope you try this sauce, and love it as much as we do! Let me know in the comments where you decide to use this sauce, and tag me on Instagram and Facebook if you do!
